This is honestly one of my favorite summer makes! The blouse is super relaxed, feels amazing on the skin, and depending on the fabric you choose, it can look breezy and casual or even a little dressy. I made it with sleeves, but it would also look great sleeveless – just finish the armholes with a neat bias binding and you're good to go!
I’ve sewn this blouse in three different fabrics, and I loved the result every single time:
Cotton Poplin – crisp, light, and easy to sew. It gives the blouse a bit more structure and a clean, polished look. Perfect if you like a neater shape.
Double Gauze with Embroidery – soft, airy, and with beautiful texture. The embroidery added a lovely detail and made it feel a bit more special.
Seersucker – light and slightly puckered. No ironing needed, super summer-friendly, and so comfortable to wear.
I’m sure it would also work wonderfully with a lightweight linen – something with a bit of drape so it falls nicely but still feels breathable and cool.
